5 best Android flagship smartphones that anyone can buy in 2018

The first half of 2018 has passed, and almost all major smartphone makers have come out with the flagships that they had to launch in this year. Now only a handful of flagships are remaining to be launched, so this is an appropriate time if you want to buy a flagship smartphone. And in order to help you with that we’ve prepared this list of 5 best Android flagship smartphones that can be bought in 2018. Have a look:

#1. Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus

Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus predecessor

Samsung has dominated the smartphone market scene with its high-end flagships since ever, and so is the case this year too. Although Galaxy S9 Plus didn’t have any high profile stuff to differentiate itself from its predecessor, it had enough features to keep it among the top flagships launched this year. It comes with latest Snapdragon 845 processor, 6 gigabytes of RAM, 6.2-inches large Infinity display (1,440 x 2,960 px resolution), 12mp + 12mp dual lens primary camera and 8mp secondary camera. One of the lenses in primary camera has got variable aperture to help you take great shots in any type of lighting situations. To power all of this there’s a 3,500 mAh battery underneath along with fast charging support and Type-C USB port.

#2. Google Pixel 2 XL

Pixel 2 XL

Though Pixel 3 is due to arrive sometime in September or October, until it arrives Pixel 2 XL is going to remain among the 5 best Android flagship smartphones that anyone can buy. That is in large part because of its camera and the best Android experience it offers. You get a device that comes with pure Android and no nonsense, and a device that will receive all software updates on time. Its 12.2 mp primary is an awesome one for photography (see it to believe it), and the 8mp secondary camera capable enough for great photography. It allows you to capture portrait mode images, complete with bokeh blur, without a second lens. Other specs include Snapdragon 835 SoC, 6-inch display with 1,440 x 2,880 px resolution and 3,520 mAh battery with fast charging support and Type-C USB port.

At the same time, however, if you want to purchase a Pixel and can wait for some time, I’d suggest you to put your purchase on hold for 2-3 months I’d suggest you to do so as it will allow you to purchase the latest Pixel 3 instead.

#3. Huawei P20 Pro

Huawei P20 Pro

Camera makes an important part of any smartphone, and if we’re out to purchase a flagship smartphone it becomes even more important. After all, who would want to have an expensive smartphone that can’t take good images? And while expensive smartphones usually come with great photography prowess, when we spend a fortune on something we want the best! And the best right now from photography perspective is Huawei P20 Pro. You can learn more about its photography prowess in our other article that we published a few days back, but the long story short is that for now you can’t find a camera phone like this one in market. Its complete specs include octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor, 6GB RAM, 6.1-inches large Full HD+ (1,080 x 2,240 px) display, 40mp +20 mp + 8mp triple lens primary camera and 24 mp selfie camera. The battery used to power this device is 4,000 mAh and it comes with fast charging support.

Coming in next few days, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 has had all its specs leaked before the launch like its predecessors. So we have a pretty good idea of what to expect from this device, and based on that we can say that this will be among the best flagships of India despite not being much different from its predecessor. It will come with Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB RAM, Android 8.1 Oreo and a massive 4,000 mAh battery. The camera and display size are expected to remain same as the ones found in its predecessor: 12mp dual lens primary camera, 8mp selfie camera and 6.3-inches large display with 1,440 x 2,960 px resolution. We’ll update this section when device has launched.

#5. LG G7 ThinQ

LG G7 ThinQ Launched

While no one paid attention to this smartphone launched by LG, that was a big mistake on everyone’s part in my opinion. LG G7 ThinQ has everything that’s needed to make up a great smartphone in 2018 – Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB RAM, 6.1-inches large display with 1,440 x 3,120 px resolution, 16mp+16mp dual lens primary camera and 8mp secondary camera. Both these cameras have got awesome AI capabilities to help in capturing great images, and this smartphone also makes use of AI in a number of other areas as well. A 3,000 mAh battery powers this device, which can be charged rapidly because of Quick Charge 4.0 support. What else would you want from a flagship?
