So after a failed attempt on 11th of July HMD Global today finally launched Nokia 5.1 Plus, aka Nokia X5, in China. The device looks just like the one that we saw in leaks, and many of us are going to be disappointed with its notchy display. However, that’s company’s answer to all those smartphones coming out with notches these days, so if you don’t like the notch there’s no need to take things personally. In future company will certainly come out with something even better!
But for those who don’t have any problem with notches, the specs of device are as follows: MediaTek Helio P60 chipset with 3GB/4GB RAM options, 5.86-inch display with HD+ resolution (1,520 x 720 px) and 19:9 aspect ratio, 13mp + 5mp dual-lens primary camera and 8mp secondary camera. The front facing camera has got 80-degree wide viewing angle, AI portraits and beauty mode. Internal storage options are 32GB and 64GB with 3 and 4 gigs of RAM, respectively. A 3,060 mAh battery powers the device and it runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, with HMD Global promising the Android P update as soon as it’s released by Google.
Coming to the price, Nokia 5.1 Plus will cost around $150 for 32GB model and about $200 for 64GB model. Color options available will include Black, White and Blue. Pre-orders for China begin from tomorrow, but for other markets there’s no information right now. We’ll let you know when we hear anything about it from the company.
