Google Contacts has finally received its long-awaited dark mode in the latest update i.e., version 3.2. In the past few months, Google started pushing dark mode on a bunch of its Android applications. It also acknowledged the fact that the dark mode essentially helps in longer battery life. In the past, Google News, Android Messages and YouTube have already got the dark mode.
In August 2018, Contacts app was updated with the Material UI. It was also observed that the app had used white color extensively. Personally, I have never been a fan of the white background as it is strainful for the eyes (as well as on the phone’s battery).
Enabling Dark Mode in Google Contacts
All you’ve to do is update Google Contacts to version 3.2. Once you’ve updated it, open the pull-out menu from the left side and scroll down. This is where you’ll find an option – “Turn dark theme on”. If you haven’t got the update to Google Contacts app, download it from APK mirror and force close the application after installing.
