Lenovo Z5 Pro GT with 12GB RAM, Snapdragon 855 and 512GB storage announced

Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is the phone that is certainly pushing the limits of the smartphone to its edge. Lenovo today, has announced that this beast – Lenovo Z5 Pro GT will have massive 12 GB RAM and colossal 512 GB of internal storage. I mean my gaming desktop has 16 GB RAM and this phone is literally 4 GB behind it. In fact, I had to think twice before putting another 8 GB stick in my desktop because of the prices but I guess the prices of RAM (at least mobile RAM) are getting cheaper. This also reminds me that I’ve 500 GB SSD in my machine and this phone has already surpassed it. I need to beef up my game and get more SSDs.

Lenovo Z5 Pro GT Specifications and Features

Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is the refreshed version of Z5 Pro which they announced last month. In addition to the massive 12 GB RAM and 512 GB internal storage, Lenovo is also putting in Snapdragon 855 processor making it a direct competitor to Mi Mix 3 and Honor Magic 2 despite the fact that these two run on Snapdragon 845 SoC. The phone has the slider design which potentially hides the notch altogether.

At the launch event today, Lenovo talked about benchmarks and at least in the numbers, it is way ahead of many competing phones. As far as the camera is concerned, it has 24 MP and 16 MP lens at the back. At the front, there’s also a dual camera setup with 8 MP and 6 MP sensors. It is the world’s first computer vision ISP powered camera. We will sure need to investigate this gimmick and see if it makes photos better. What is disappointing is that it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo when it has already been 3-4 months since Android 9 Pie has been in the market. The phone has 3350 mAh battery, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C port,  and 4G VoLTE connectivity.
