Samsung Galaxy A8s unveiled with an Infinity-O display

Samsung Galaxy A8s has officially been launched with an infinity-o display (fancy word for punch-hole type camera notch). The black round camera module on the screen definitely looks weird. This is the first of its kind and camera is aligned to the top left of the smartphone. The next device with this kind of display will be Honor View 20.

The front hole incorporates  24 MP, f/2.0 camera which is quite big in my opinion. At the rear, it has a triple camera setup and finger print sensor. The main sensor is 24 MP, f/1.7, PDAF.  The second sensor is 10 MP, AF Telephoto and third is 5 MP, f/2.2, depth sensor. Samsung Galaxy A8s is Powered by Qualcomm’s latest mid-range offering Snapdragon 710 and 6/8GB of RAM. Other specs include 128GB of storage, expandable storage slot, 6.4 inches display with 19.5:9 ratio.

The Samsung Galaxy A8s has a narrow bezel around the display with the bottom chin. Mostly made out of aluminum, the design doesn’t impress much. However, the glass back with a triple camera setup does put it on par with premium flagship phones.

The device has a 3,400 mAh battery with fast charging support. At the bottom, it consists of a speaker grill and a USB-C socket. The device runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box with Samsung’s One UI on top.

The device will be available in blue, gray, green colors. It would be interesting to see how customers respond to Samsung’s new Infinity-O display.
