It’s update time going on, and therefore one after another smartphone is receiving Android 9 Pie update nowadays. Yesterday I had told you about the Pie update for OnePlus 3 and 3T, and now it turns out that Moto G6 Play Android Pie Update is being rolled out. Moto G6 Play, which already received the Pie update in Brazil some time ago, is all set to get it in the United States and other countries too.
Moto G6 Play Android Pie update being rolled out
Coming to the changes, there’s not much visual difference except for a few major changes here and there. For example, the Settings app has been redesigned, Recents now scrolls horizontally, and almost all UI elements receive some more roundness in their corners.
Other minor changes include improved audio controls, a temporary rotation key that you can use to rotate your screen even when auto-rotate is turned off, adaptive battery, adaptive brightness and a fresh set of emojis. Some major security-related changes have also been incorporated in this update, like data encryption, an alert tone to warn you when your call is being recorded, and disappearing swipe trail while unlocking the pattern lock. Full list of changes is available here on the official Motorola website.
Moto G6 Play Android Pie update is being rolled out in a phased manner, and there’s a good chance that you might have already received its notification. If you’ve not received the notification, you can either check for the update manually from Settings of your device, or you can wait for a few days. In any case, click the update notification as soon as you get it to start downloading the update. Even though this update doesn’t bring too many visual changes, you should still certainly install it as it’s a very important update from security standpoint too.
