The list of apps by Google in the Android ecosystem is a long one. Therefore, when the company decided to roll out a system-wide dark mode in Android Q, it had an extensive job on its hands. Google had been pretty quick about bringing the dark mode to its individual apps. This time around, Google fit has got the dark mode functionality and additional features that could help you track your sleep. The update is directly being prepped to the general public instead of the beta test users.
As soon as the update was released to the general public, Google made a statement –
“Connect your favorite sleep app to Google Fit and you’ll see charts that show you your sleep patterns over time. You’ll also be able to add, edit or access your sleep history through the journal.”
Sleep Tracking – Google Fit
The sleep tracking feature will work by collecting data from other apps installed on your phone. You can add and edit data if you want to for better sleep tracking. Overall we can say that this update will not only improve the battery life of your device (by consuming less power under dark mode) but also improve the accuracy of your fitness tracking, which makes it a must-install update for every Google Fit user. So, update your Google Fit app today and share your thoughts about the changes introduced in the comments section below!
